Experience Pynarello in Domani
Suppose you are curious to hear the St Matthew Passion, but you are not sure whether you can bear to listen to Bach twice for an hour and a half. For those people, Pynarello is the place to be! They dive into the world of music around Good Friday and Easter. Not only by Bach - both his St Matthew and St John's Day - but also by Pergolesi and other composers who were inspired by the biblical story. In Pynarello style: about ten highlights from the passions within an hour, accessible and without a pew feeling.
The programme is an ideal introduction to passion music, but also for seasoned devotees there is plenty new to discover. Besides Bach's famous passions, there is music by Mendelssohn, Poulenc and a brand new aria by Bart Visman specially written for tenor Peter Gijsbertsen.
At Pynarello classical music always sounds slightly different than you think. Do not expect a traditional orchestra, but a special combination of strings, 4 singers, bandoneon, woodwinds and harp. The adventurous Dutch singers Karin Timmerman, Caroline Cartens, Peter Gijsbertsen and Berend Eijkhout play together with Pynarello. The music collective has its own and beloved signature: without a conductor, without sheet music, free of dogma and full of love for the music
