TheatreDichtbij | collaboration North and Central Limburg theatres
Surprise. Move. Inspire. Transport. Make people laugh. Make you forget time. Experience is never far away. You get away from it all. And we grant that to everyone. Together with four other North and Central Limburg theatres, we form the collaborative body and present ourselves under the name TheaterDichtbij.
TheaterDichtbij is an initiative of these five hospitable theatres: Schouwburg Venray, TheaterHotel De Oranjerie in Roermond, DOK6 Theatre in Panningen, Munttheater in Weert and Maaspoort in Venlo. TheaterDichtbij expresses itself primarily as an online platform where you can find the performances of five different theatres in North and Central Limburg conveniently together. Soon, www.theaterdichtbij.nl will show you at a glance which shows are playing in your neighbourhood. And in which theatres exactly. Super handy!

Ptah kunstadvies is a gallery with an extensive collection of contemporary art from various disciplines. An affordable collection, because Ptah wants to keep art accessible for everyone. And a varied collection, with works by regional, national and foreign artists.
On the website of Ptah kunstadvies, you can get an impression of the collection, but above all be surprised by the beautiful gallery at the Venloseweg 2 in Tegelen.
In Maaspoort you can see works from Fons Schobbers, Sjaak Smetsers, Jacqueline Bozon and Dick Schoenmakers.

A day in North Limburg feels like a holiday in your own country. The landscape, the culture of Limburg and the activities that the region has to offer are truly unique and worth discovering.
There are various nature areas, beautiful authentic villages/cities with historical centres and places of interest such as the beautiful Kasteeltuinen in Arcen: the versatile flower and plant park. You can also discover the various landscapes and the most beautiful places that North Limburg has to offer by taking a bike ride or a walk.
If you are in for some more action, you can take the whole family to Toverland amusement park, which was voted the best amusement park in the Netherlands in 2014! Or go shopping in Venlo, voted Best Town Centre 2013 - 2015.
Would you prefer a quieter activity? That is possible! Come and relax in Thermaalbad Arcen or take a look in the Limburgs Museum, fun for young and old! At Zoo Parc Overloon you are at the right place for a voyage of discovery through the many special animal species that live there.
Who thinks of Limburg, thinks of good food and Burgundy. At the Hertog Jan Brewery, you are welcome for a guided tour, where a delicious Limburg beer awaits you afterwards. You can also enjoy the many regional Limburg products that are prepared in various restaurants. It is not for nothing that the Venlo region has been declared Region of Taste!
Reason enough to spend a day in Northern Limburg! And to end such a wonderful day on a really good note, come and enjoy one of the many performances in De Maaspoort in the evening. From cabaret to dance, from theatre to opera and from musicals to events: there is something for everyone!
If you can't get enough of the region, there are plenty of places to stay. Settle down on a campsite, book a night in the indoor Theaterhotel Venlo, enjoy the homely atmosphere of a bed and breakfast or go with your whole family to one of the many group accommodations or bungalow parks. There is enough choice!
Most activities can be undertaken throughout the year, but the region also hosts several annual festivals. For example, every year on the first weekend of July, the largest free dance festival in the south of the Netherlands is organised in the Julianapark in Venlo: Stereo Sunday. The traditional end of the summer holidays is celebrated with the Schinkemerret, where you can enjoy a stroll around the fair. Or come on one of the Wednesdays in the high season to the Sfeermarkt in Arcen, with a different theme each time.
