An evening at a classical concert is of course a wonderful outing. philharmonie zuidnederland and De Maaspoort do their utmost to make it as attractive as possible for the widest possible audience. Some people want to see everything that happens on stage, others prefer to close their eyes and let themselves be carried away by the beautiful musical sounds. And yet another will appreciate receiving additional information during the concert.
This season, philharmonie zuidnederland is introducing the app Wolfgang at a selection of concerts(Masterpiece Central in the National Theatre Weekend and the Matthäus Passion). Wolfgang is a classical music app for the smartphone. While the musicians play, Wolfgang tells you what you hear in the music - at that precise moment. With Wolfgang, you understand and experience classical music like never before. You can prepare for the concert beforehand by viewing the digital introduction and during the concert you will receive information via the Wolfgang app.
How do you use the app?
- Wolfgang can be downloaded quickly from the App Store (for iPhone from iOS 7.1) and Google Play (for Android phones from Android 4.4)
Download the app at home or beforehand in the foyer! Then you will be fully prepared before the concert starts. - You can use the venue's wifi network (ask for the code when you arrive). But Wolfgang also works fine on your own 3G or 4G network. Wifi is not necessary, but it is preferable.
- Switch your phone to silent during the concert.
- Open the app and you will automatically see the messages appear for the piece of music to which Wolfgang applies.
Useful tips
- Leave the phone on your lap during the concert.
- Wolfgang has a black background with white letters. This ensures that there is little (light) disturbance and good legibility.
- Enjoy the music and check the app from time to time.
- Wolfgang loads the information into the app in advance and shows it at the right moment. This means that very little data is used when you are not connected to the wifi network.
Extra information
In the service e-mail and on the programme sheet that you receive before the concert, it is announced for which piece of music Wolfgang provides information. On the website www.wolfgangapp.nl and in the app itself you will find an overview of all the concerts and the pieces of music that Wolfgang can be used for.
