After the successful guest appearance with the ''Small Opera Gala'' last season, the soloists and the choir of Theater Krefeld-Mönchengladbach come to De Maaspoort again and present a colourful opera cocktail with excerpts from the diverse theatre repertoire of the 22/23 theatre season. On the programme are arias, ensembles and choirs from Richard Wagner's dramatic opera The Flying Dutchman, exotic stage work from Giacomo Puccini's Madame Butterfly, Verdi's Rigoletto and Antonin Dvorak's fairy tale opera Rusalka. Friends of bel canto can look forward to excerpts from Gaetano Donizetti's The Daughter of the Regiment and Vincenzo Bellini's La Sonnambula. The opera highlights will be presented by soloists from the Musiktheater Krefeld-Mönchengladbach and the Operastudio Niederrhein, who already managed to inspire the audience with their beautiful voices at the ''Small Opera Gala''. The concert, which will be accompanied on the grand piano, will be conducted by Kapellmeister Sebastian Engel.
