Spectacular choreography and beautiful visual illusions by up-and-coming dance maker.
Young choreographer Jennifer Romen (b. 1996) took an unorthodox route to the theatre as an urban dance maker. She created a furore in dance competitions, television programmes, the commercial circuit and as a teacher, thus building an enormous following of people who do not often go to the theatre. It is therefore high time that theatre audiences are also introduced to her spectacular choreographies and detailed visual illusions. With her company Oxygen, she makes the step to the theatre with the full-length 'Delusion', a moving coming-of-age performance. In this three-part visual masterpiece, she constantly puts the audience on the wrong foot with an interplay of dance and illusion, with light as the connecting factor.
