Open from now on: Restobar SIN. Combining restaurant and bar under one roof, SIN positions itself as a second living room for a wide audience with an offer for every moment of the day. What makes SIN unique is its collaboration with the Maaspoort theatre next door.
Leon Thommassen, managing director of Maaspoort: 'Maaspoort is a breeding ground for art and culture. We stand for deepening and entertainment, with us it is possible. We have transferred this atmosphere to the concept of SIN. There too, we surprise our guests with a mix of perspectives, ideas and tastes and nothing is too crazy. We are proud of the great cooperation with concept developer CONTRAST and designer King Kongs. The enthusiasm and entrepreneurship of these partners contributed to the fact that we were able to develop this special hospitality together.'
Distinctly different
Anna Casemier, partner and concept developer at CONTRAST: 'The starting point in the concept is that we wanted to create a place that feels like a second living room but distinctly different. SIN's team therefore consists of flamboyant hospitality professionals who love people and understand how to surprise guests by doing things just a little differently. This surprising rebellion is also reflected in SIN's kitchen, where culinary rules are lovingly broken. Because where can you find the combination of modern Asian dishes and South American flavours with classic French elements? This is how we have developed SIN into a place where you can break free from the grind and get an appetite for more. A place where you can enjoy without shame and sin, gladly even.' The menu consists of dishes to share, adventurous wines, quirky beers and cocktails.
Colourful and playful
Martijn Gosen, owner King Kongs Hospitality Design: 'At SIN, we have combined retro visual elements from the 1980s with new images, creating a look of techno, retro and futuristic at the same time. This fits exactly with the rebellious and exciting character of SIN. It has become a place where you experience freedom and connection and where everyone feels at home. Remarkably, the shapes and colours of SIN also refer to the theatre's spotlights. In this way, we also made this connection visually. The final result suits the extrovert character of our design agency and SIN's ambition. Really nice that it all coincides like this.'
Seduction on the plate
SIN's kitchen is headed by chef Max Wetzels. His menu is pure temptation on your plate, with small and large dishes for sharing and matching cocktails for every moment of the day. SIN is also a place that welcomes Maaspoort guests before or after a show. The theatre's lobby therefore has a direct connection to the catering area. Naturally, there is a playful theatre menu that is also combined with surprising wall art featuring Candy Dulfer and Ronald Goedemondt and live music programming. Leon Thommassen: 'We are looking forward to it and warmly invite everyone to come and sin at SIN. From now on, we are open, Tuesday to Sunday from 10.00 a.m.'
Begin at SIN
Every good evening deserves a sinful beginning. Before the show (or just after), join SIN for a table full of dishes to share. In other words, a dinner without the stress of choice. Exciting, surprising and above all far too delicious to keep to yourself. No good three-courses, but a parade of flavours through which you may sin together. Start at SIN is a mix of cold and hot dishes to share. With a dessert, of course. Served in three rounds. Perfect to kick off or end the evening with. Book the Begin at SIN package here.
We don't judge. Let the SIN begin.
