Teatro Maaspoort returns to Zomerparkfeest this year. Due to the great success of last year, the tent will be bigger this year and there are even more funny, moving and special performances planned.

The programme features a diversity of genres over four days, including literature, cabaret, opera, bluegrass/americana, classical music, folk, philosophy, poetry, dance, theatre and children's stories.

Pepijn Lanen, known as Faberyayo from De Jeugd van Tegenwoordig, will be the first on Thursday, focusing on his debut novel Naamloos. Also performing are artists such as music theatre group Piepschuim, writer Jan van Mersbergen, cabaret talent Martijn Kardol, harpist Remy van Kesteren and the Scandinavian folk pop group My bubba. Sunday afternoon is dedicated to the little ones with 'Peuterpret' and 'De Hik'. The latter is a children's book, written by one of the Netherlands' best cabaret artists, Micha Wertheim. Wertheim himself will read to the young visitors.

Teatro Maaspoort is a collaboration between Zomerparkfeest and De Maaspoort Theatre & Events. Besides the programme in Teatro Maaspoort, more than 130 artists will perform in the Julianapark. Zomerparkfeest starts next week on Thursday 25 August and lasts four days. The festival is celebrating its fortieth edition this year and admission is free.
