Friday 10 June, Venlo - De Maaspoort presented its new theatre programme at the PREVIEWnight last Wednesday. It was the first PREVIEWnight since 2019, new this year was that the evening could be followed at home via livestream. Artists such as Patrick Laureij, Waylon, OG3NE, Bert Visscher, Jan Smit, Theo Maassen, Juf Roos, Peter Pannekoek and the big musical productions The Prom and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory will come to Venlo.

Also special is Abbie Chalgoum, who, in cooperation with Toneelgroep Maastricht, will bring his book 'Ik blijf bij je' to life in the theatre. Together with GRENSWERK, De Maaspoort presents WENDE, Kim Wilde and Heino. In cooperation with the Venlo Library, a theatre lecture series has been developed with Maarten van Rossem, Diederik Jekel and Lieven Scheire. De Maasport offers a broad programme for all target groups from young to old, in which all genres are represented.

Most of the programming was created by former programmer Maarten van Erp: "I think this is my most balanced and exciting programme. With a mix of big and well-known names and on the other hand very nice - sometimes still a bit unknown - artists and companies. In terms of themes, this programming also touches society more than ever before." Wieke Vrijhoef, theatre animal at heart, succeeds Maarten van Erp. With her enthusiasm, creativity and drive, she picks up where Van Erp left off. In search of even more connection, a larger and more diverse audience. In short: being of significance for the region.

On Tuesday 14 June at 10 a.m., the advance sales for Friends of De Maaspoort will start. Anyone can become a Friend and order with priority via www.maaspoort.nl. Subscription holders (booking 4 performances or more) can order from Friday 17 June at 16:00. Free sales start Tuesday 21 June at 16:00.
