The programme of the National Theatre Weekend is known! From 24 to 26 January 2020, the National Theatre Weekend will be organised in the Netherlands for the fifth time. The Netherlands celebrates theatre with more than 300 surprising performances and many free activities, in more than 80 theatres in the Netherlands. De Maaspoort Theatre & Events also participates and they open their doors for you to discover theatre for only € 10 per ticket.
Together they make sure that theatre can be experienced by everyone with low ticket prices and free activities. Check the programme of the participating theatres on the Nationaal Theaterweekend website.
On Friday 24 January , De Maaspoort will be celebrating National Theatre Weekend with a cabaret and music performance.
The cabaret artist that you can visit for €10 is Pieter Jouke with his show'Gloeiende Plaat'. Pieter Jouke wants to make the world a little better. But, in order to do so, he will first have to understand the world better. And that is difficult, in a head that is full of thoughts. Of brain activities. Thought patterns. He is constantly struck by things, ideas spring to mind, his imagination runs wild. His brain is boiling over with musings and in Gloeiende plaat everything spurts out!
The theatre concert you can enjoy is'Sound of Silence' by Simon and Garfunkel Acoustic. Jop Wijlacker and Dennis Kolen travel back to their youth with the most beautiful memories of Simon & Garfunkel gems: from the modest Scarborough Fair to the cosy sing-alongs like The Boxer and Mrs. Robinson. The songs are supported by high-profile images, interspersed with breathtaking anecdotes and personal memories. The two-part singing, the harmonious melodies and striking lyrics create an intimate and intense atmosphere
