Ukraine Liberation Orchestra performs Mozart's Cosí Fan Tutte
così fan tutte' is a comic opera in two acts by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, in which two young men engage in a love experiment with a bet and thus put their love to the test. The subtitle of the opera is therefore 'La scuola degli amanti' or the school of lovers. Freely translated, Così fan tutte means 'That is how all women are', but that does not mean that the gentlemen will get off scot-free..
così fan tutte' premiered in Vienna in 1790 and was immediately a resounding success. The opera rightfully belongs to the cast iron repertoire and is regularly staged by all major opera houses.
A group of Ukrainian musicians fled the war in their country and found refuge in the Netherlands. This has led to the creation of a special occasional orchestra at the initiative of conductor Jeroen Weierink, the Ukraine Liberation Orchestra (ULO). Marc Krone will direct the show and with six exceptionally talented Ukrainian singers we present a brand new staging of what is without a doubt the most hilarious boulevard farce among operas.
